Proud to be part of

Music

At Gladstone Park Primary School, we recognise the importance of music in supporting pupils’ creativity and personal development. Music is an integral part of our curriculum, and we ensure that all pupils have opportunities to enjoy, explore and create music.

Pupils develop their skills through singing, playing instruments and listening to a wide range of music from different cultures, historical periods and traditions. This enables them to build confidence, work collaboratively and develop their creativity.

Our curriculum is designed to foster a lifelong appreciation of music, while developing pupils’ musical knowledge and skills progressively across the school.

In Early Years and Key Stage 1, teachers deliver music using the Charanga programme. In KS2, specialist teachers from Brent Music Service provide high-quality music tuition. All pupils take part in regular singing assemblies and termly performances.

Additional opportunities are provided through Brent Music Service, where pupils can access instrumental lessons in violin, guitar and keyboard. We also work with Rocksteady, which delivers in-school band sessions that promote teamwork, confidence and a sense of belonging.

The school choir is a particular strength. It is of a high standard and represents the school successfully at a range of events across London.
