Science
At Gladstone Park Primary School, we aim to deliver a high-quality, inspiring science curriculum which challenges all pupils.
Our science curriculum is designed to spark curiosity and develop children’s understanding of the world through exploration and enquiry. We follow the White Rose Science curriculum, which is fully aligned with the National Curriculum and places strong emphasis on Working Scientifically skills. This gives our children regular opportunities to investigate scientific concepts through hands-on experiments and practical learning. The curriculum is carefully sequenced to build on prior learning, with a strong focus on key vocabulary so that children can confidently talk about their learning using scientific language. We assess the pupil’s science knowledge through end of unit assessments, capturing what they have learnt and giving teachers an accurate judgement of their attainment. As part of the Gladstone Park Pledge, meaningful links to outdoor learning are woven throughout the curriculum, providing children with even more opportunities to explore, observe and learn beyond the classroom.
